Two Worlds in One
Do you ever feel like you’re living in two worlds in one?
One is a place of love that you create within yourself, your home, and perhaps your local community.
The other is the world at large, with its fear and contention.
One of the ways I find peace when the world intrudes upon me is to sit at my piano and play whatever comes.

Last night, I riffed a melody in E-flat major that was peaceful and yet a little haunting. As I listened to the recording over and over while preparing for bed, the words came to me…
You and I reside within
Two worlds in one
One of fear and the other love…
I quickly pulled out a pen and notebook and composed the first draft of lyrics.
It’s a song about the duality of striving to live as a peacemaker and creating your own place of security in a world that loves drama and contention and seems to swim in fear.
The result is “Two Worlds in One.”
After completing the song, I thought of this quote by President Russell M. Nelson:
“As turmoil rages around us, we need to create places where we are safe, both physically and spiritually.”

You may listen to the full song below.
I hope it gives you peace and strengthens you as you continue creating your own places of physical and spiritual security.
And perhaps, in our own small ways, as we choose love over fear and peace over contention, we can become those places of peace for others as well.
If you’re longing for more of that peace in your own life—or trying to discern the divine hunches and quiet guidance leading you forward—I’d love to support you. I offer a free 20-minute Flow & Grow Discovery Session where we can talk about where you are, where you feel called to go, and what may be getting in the way.
