Acrylic Pouring with Cosette Snarr
The last time we visited family in Utah, we decided to join my friend, Cosette Snarr, for one of her acrylic pouring classes. Cosette refers to her artistry as “Joyful Art” because there are so many life lessons about joy and letting go that one can learn from this art form.
I’d heard Cosette talk about the joys and lessons of acrylic pouring, so I was able to relax and roll with it.
- “Don’t worry, you’re going to make a mess.“
- “It never turns out like you think it will.”
- “Let go of your need to control.“
Art Is Always More Fun with Friends!
We got together about four other friends to go with us, and the art class was the highlight of my trip. Getting together with friends and creating something is really fun. I also cut lose and picked some vibrant colors that my more-reserved self wouldn’t have selected. I’ve noticed that since our day trip to Nogales, Mexico a couple years ago that I’m very drawn to vibrant colors. If I had a house all to myself, I’d decorate it with bright whimsical colors.
While there are things I might have done differently with my piece, I still like it. I have it hanging in my new Zen office space. I look forward to another trip back to Utah so I can do another class with Cosette. If you’re ever in the Syracuse, Utah area, look her up and see if she has a class going that you can join. Or, do like we did and bring some friends!
The video below is one I created from our class. Cosette explains how to do the acrylic pouring and some of the life lessons and joy lessons you can glean from the experience.
Cosette is also a Joyful Heart Mentor. Check out her web site at www.CosetteSnarr.com
