Woodchips Delivered for Our Garden
My husband arranged for a local tree company to bring over woodchips whenever they have some available. We’re using them to mulch our garden and around our trees. The tree company would normally have to pay to take them to the landfill, so they let us have them for free. It’s a serious win-win for us! We had about 4-5 loads delivered last year.
We got a call Monday that the tree company had a load for us. Dave asked me where we should have them drop the woodchips. I suggested the field … assuming the soil wasn’t too wet from recent rains. We took a walk out to the field to check the state of the soil. Fortunately for us, the ground was firm enough for the truck to come in and deliver the woodchips!
We’ll be putting these hardwood chips in the space between our fruit trees and between the rows of our garden out in the field. I’m so excited because this means I don’t have to use the wheel barrow to lug woodchips from last year’s piles that are about a quarter mile away!
