Inclusivity of Nature: Plenty of Space for Everyone
Nature practices inclusivity. The message I’m seeing in nature today is that there’s room for everyone – birds, squirrels, rabbits get along. Dave and his dad put out this big block of bird seed at Dave’s sister’s house in Phoenix, Arizona. Dave and I sat outside this evening watching the birds and animals enjoy the big block of seeds.
What struck me is that not only did the Gambel’s Quail show up at the “Quail Crossing,” but so did the doves and other birds as well as a bunny rabbit and an antelope squirrel. Nobody seemed to mind the presence of these different creatures.
A few of the Gambel’s Quail got a bit territorial — males chasing off males — but everyone else seemed happy to share the bounty.
There’s room for everyone in the world… with all kinds of views and interests and beliefs and ideas. Especially in an online world where data has almost become unlimited, there is no scarcity of space to express ourselves. There is only abundance.
Why can’t we all just get along? Live and let live. If someone is saying something we don’t want to hear, there’s always plenty of other people to listen to if we want. Or we can get off-line and spend some time in nature or with our families and remember what life is all about.
