Symbolism of the April 8, 2024 Eclipse
I was at the chiropractor yesterday and I stepped outside at 3:04 with my glasses to watch the eclipse. My doctor was outside trying to get a photo with his phone. I offered him a look through my glasses, and he gladly accepted. Soon, all the doctors, staff and patients came out to take a turn with my one pair of glasses. Then people from neighboring stores came out and used my glasses. It was so fun sharing my glasses —seeing everyone so joyful to watch the sun and to see it effectively.
The thought occurred to me this morning … What if as many people who anticipated, prepared, even traveled and took time to look at the Sun with interest, curiosity and delight yesterday prepared, learned and looked to the Son of God with interest, curiosity, and delight?
What if those of us with “glasses” (eyes to see Him through the lens of the gospel) shared Him as easily and readily as a pair of eclipse glasses? Oh, the joy that would bring to them and to us!
Maybe nature just sent us a little reminder to look up, look to God, turn our hearts and minds to Jesus Christ and let Him heal our land? Maybe nature was telling us that sharing the joy of Jesus Christ CAN be as simple as sharing a pair of eclipse glasses.
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
Interesting Astronomical Symbolism
On April 8, 2024, Chiron also aligned with the Sun and the Moon during the total eclipse. Chiron, according to my friend Cytel Shults, represents Jesus Christ or “the Wounded Healer.” The moon represents our subconscious and our Voice. So, let’s think about that alignment:
- Chiron – The Wounded Healer. Also, on a personal level, Chiron represents those personally transformed by THE Great Wounded Healer, Jesus Christ. Chiron represents both Jesus and His followers who let Him transform them. (Us being one with Him – our own personal alignment.)
- The Sun – the mind (could also be the Son of God)
- Moon – the heart and the voice. (Our hearts and voices and possibly the heart and voice of God)
Might this total eclipse alignment be a wakeup call to followers of Jesus Christ to align our hearts and minds with Him and to more proactively use our voices to draw the world to Him? Let us center ourselves in Jesus Christ. Allow Him to transform us, and step out boldly, leading others to Him. Let us encourage all to come unto Christ, let Him transform us, and stay connected to Him!
“The sun and Chiron are conjunct for the next few days. This is an invitation to continue to bring our minds to Jesus. One of two things can happen. We can either let the light being shown on our hearts and our wounds, consume us. Or we can step into the power of allowing that light to shine on our wounds so we can draw closer to Jesus and stand in the power of our personal gifts as healers.”
